Ačkoliv legendární britská formace King Crimson zavítá do Prahy až v polovině září, po měsíci od ohlášení je jejich vystoupení beznadějně vyprodané. K radosti všech příznivců skupiny tak pořadatelé dnes oznámili její druhý koncert, který se uskuteční jen den po prvním zveřejněném datu - 15.září.

Předprodej vstupenek, který zajišťuje společnost Ticketportal, bude zahájen zítra. Stejně jako na první termín budou lístky pouze k sezení v ceně od 990 do 1590 korun. Pro velký zájem o vstupenky na první koncert však tentokrát nebude možné lístky rezervovat. Více na www.ticketportal.cz

V pražském Foru Karlín se King Crimson představí v sedmičlenné sestavě, jejíž rytmus udávají tři bubeníci. Její vznik před dvěma lety incioval kytarista, zakladatel a jediný stálý člen King Crimson - Robert Fripp, který tentokrát svedl dohromady - Jakka Jakszyka (zpěv, kytara, flétna), Tonyho Levina (baskytara), Mela Collinse (saxofon, flétna), Pata Mastelotta (bicí, perkuse), Gavina Harrisona (bicí) a Billa Rieflina (bicí, klávesy).
Na stávající turné se kapela rozjela v loňském roce a návštěvnostní rekordy zaznamenala jak ve Velké Británii, tak v Kanadě (kde si vyprodané sály rovněž vyžádaly další koncerty) či v Japonsku, s jehož publikem se rozloučila těsně před vánočními svátky.


King Crimson
King Crimson založil Robert Fripp v roce 1968 a jen o rok později už kapela vystupovala po boku Rolling Stones v Hyde Parku. Ačkoliv jsou nejčastěji označováni za průkopníky progresivního rocku, během jejich padesátileté kariéry jim tato "škatulka" byla mnohokrát příliš těsná. Častých personálních změn skupina povětšinou využívala i k obměně nástrojového složení a ke zvukovému posunu. V průběhu let tak v její tvrobě dostal prostor vedle rocku i folk, jazz, metal či elektronická hudba - ostatně, King Crimson jako jedni z prvních v 60.letech začali používat mellotron. Jejich progresivní přístup k hudbě inspiroval nespočet světových hudebních ikon (Dream Theater, Nirvana, Talking Heads aj.) a jejich debutové album In The Court Of The Crimson King je dodnes považováno za jedno z nejdůležitějších alb ve vývoji rockové hudby. V proměnlivém "organismu" King Crimson se za jeho existenci vystřídalo jednadvacet excelentních hudebníků, kteří paralelně spolupracovali např. s Pink Floyd, Johnem Lennonem, Davidem Bowiem, Rolling Stones, Peterem Gabrielem, Frankem Zappou a dalšími a souhrnně tito muzikanti natočili přes 1500 alb!

KING CRIMSON ADDS SECOND PRAGUE CONCERT
DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND


Tickets for legendary British band King Crimson’s mid-September show in Prague sold out within a month of the concert date being announced. Much to the delight of their fans, organizers are pleased to announce that a second concert will be held on the day after the first show – on 15 September.

Tickets sales start tomorrow through Ticketportal. As was the case for the first concert date, seating tickets prices will range from 990 to 1590 Czech crowns. Due to the great interest for the first concert, however, this time it will not be possible to reserve tickets. More on www.ticketportal.cz.

The seven-member ensemble appearing at Prague’s Forum Karlín features a rhythm driven by three drummers. The ensemble was brought together two years ago by King Crimson guitarist and founder Robert Fripp – the one constant in the band. This time, he has brought together six other amazing musicians – Jakko Jakszyk (vocals, guitar, flute), Tony Levin (bass guitar), Mel Collins (saxophone, flute), Pat Mastelotto (drums, percussion), Gavin Harrison (drums) and Bill Rieflin (drums, keyboards).

The band set off on its current tour last year and broke concert attendance records in the U.K. and Canada (where they also had to add concerts due to sold-out venues) as well as in Japan, where they bid farewell to their audience just before Christmas.

King Crimson
King Crimson was founded by Robert Fripp in 1968 and only a year or so later, the group appeared alongside the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park. Though widely known as pioneers of progressive rock, during their 50-year career that “pigeonhole” has often proven way too narrow to define this band. Thanks to the frequently changing line-up, the creations of King Crimson are interwoven not only with rock, but also jazz, folk, heavy metal and even elements of electronic music (after all, they were among the first in the 1960s to use the Mellotron).

King Crimson’s progressive approach to music has inspired countless music icons around the globe (including Dream Theater, Nirvana and Talking Heads – to name just a few) and their debut album, In the Court of the Crimson King, is still considered one of the most important albums in the development of rock. During its existence, twenty-one superb musicians have been a part of the variable “organism” that is King Crimson. In parallel, they have worked with the likes of Pink Floyd, John Lennon, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel and Frank Zappa – and, collectively, have recorded over 1,500 albums!
