Šéfkuchař Ben Reade a potravinový expert Josh Evans se vydávají po stopách národů, v jejichž jídelníčku odpradávna nechybí hmyz. A zhusta degustují. V nabídce jsou afričtí termiti, mexičtí mravenci, australské housenky, japonské vosy, italští červi, cvrčci nebo kobylky, zasyrova či grilované. Při současném tempu růstu populace bude v roce 2050 na zeměkouli žít 9 miliard lidí, což si vyžádá nárůst potravinové produkce o 70 %. A právě hmyzí dieta, šetrná k prostředí a bohatá na živiny, by mohla být pro lidstvo jedním z řešení. Má však i svá úskalí. Investigativní dokument se zamýšlí nad budoucí jídelní alternativou i výzvami, které s sebou nutně přináší trh s potravinami.(Jeden svět)

Chef Ben Reade and food expert Josh Evans follow the trail of nations which, since time immemorial, have not excluded insects from their diet but have frequently relished them: African termites, Mexican ants, Australian caterpillars, Japanese wasps, or Italian grubs; crickets or grasshoppers; raw or grilled. If the global population continues growing at its current rate, it will reach 9 billion by 2050, requiring a 70% increase in food production. An environmentally-friendly diet including nutrient-rich insects could be one of the solutions for humankind. There are drawbacks though. This investigative documentary examines this future dining option, including the challenges inevitably associated with the food market (One World).
The screening is organized in a cooperation wth the Embassy of Denmark in the Czech Republic and the Danish Film Institute. Thank you!
