Mladé špičkové kapely z Evropy přiveze Liveurope festival, který proběhne 15. září na venkovní scéně Zahrádky Žižkov. Z Belgie dorazí energický kvartet BRNS míchající indie rock a bláznivé groove, lucemburští Say Yes Dog naservírují chytlavý synthpop a polsko-anglická zpěvačka Kari dostane posluchače písničkářským popem severského střihu. Po skončení akce na hlavním pódiu bude festival pokračovat na Malé Scéně a Divadelním Baru Paláce Akropolis, kde zahraje několik zahraničních live projektů a DJů - například čtveřice Passed z Maďarska nebo ElectricDunk vs. Sedai z Polska.

Palác Akropolis už 20 let představuje v rámci svých projektů kvalitní a neokoukané zahraniční kapely a i díky tomu se jako jediný český klub stal součástí mezinárodní hudební platformy Liveurope. Ta se zaměřuje na nové talentované evropské umělce a jejím hlavním cílem je umožnit těmto hudebníkům představit svou tvorbu i mimo svou domovskou zemi. Koordinátorem platformy je Ancienne Belgique (Belgie). Jejími dalšími členy jsou vedle Paláce Akropolis hudební kluby: Blå (Norsko), FZW (Německo), Melkweg (Nizozemsko), A38 (Maďarsko), ROCKHAL (Lucembursko), Sala Apolo (Španělsko), Stodoła (Polsko), VEGA (Dánsko), Village Underground (Velká Británie), Musicbox (Portugalsko) a L´Aéronef (Francie).
První Liveurope festival v Praze proběhne 15. září v areálu Zahrádky Žižkov. Zahrají zde belgičtí BRNS, Say Yes Dog původem z Lucemburska a polsko-anglická zpěvačka Kari.
BRNS
Píše se o nich jako o belgické odpovědi na ALT-J, Battles či Foals, oni sami ale nedají dopustit na Morphine či Nirvanu. Bruselští BRNS (číst: Brains) vtrhli na místní scénu na začátku dekády a po jejich debutu Wounded z roku 2012 už nebylo nic stejné. Kvartet míchá postpunkové groove s elektronikou a špinavými riffy devadesátkového alternativního rocku. „Tohle je výjimečná belgická kapela s naprosto originálním zvukem,“ napsal o nich portál For Folks Sale. Dva roky staré druhé album Platine je vyslalo na turné po celé Evropě, v Praze si BRNS odbydou díky Liveurope svoji premiéru.

Say Yes Dog
Nakažlivý synthpop lucemburských Say Yes Dog připomíná estetiku bláznivých televizních animáků a žánroví znalci si vzpomenou na Hot Chip či Metronomy. Trio se potkalo na konzervatoři v Haagu, skupina ale vznikla až ve chvíli, kdy se před dvěma lety chtěli dostat na vyprodaný německý festival Fusion a napadlo je, že by to mohli zkusit jako kapela na talentovou stage. Když uspěli, rychle napsali písničky, které následně vyšly na EPčku A Friend. Debutové album Plastic Love je přesně tou hudbou, která posluchače přenese do páteční klubové horečky, i když sedí v kanceláři a venku prší. Portál Noisey o Say Yes Dog prohlásil, že jsou „nejlepší neobjevenou evropskou electro-popovou kapelou.“

Kari
Polsko-anglický projekt Kari stojí na talentované polské rodačce Kari Amirian. Ta se po vydání úspěšného a kritikou chváleného debutu Daddy Says I’m Special z roku 2011 odstěhovala do anglického Leedsu . Od písničkářské křehkosti se Kari díky producentovi Chris Headley posunula na druhém albu Wounds & Bruises k eklektičtějšímu alt-popovému soundu, v němž lze slyšet ozvěny electra, osmdesátek i folk-rocku. Fascinace současnou skandinávskou scénou ale zůstala, ostatně díky ní tisk srovnává Kari s Lykke Li, Stinou Nordenstam či Björk.
Liveurope festival představí 15. září v Zahrádkách Žižkov současnou mladou evropskou indie scénu. Tato akce zároveň uzavře letošní ročník průběžného festivalu Žižkov Sobě. Vstup na akci je zdarma.

The Liveurope Festival, which will take place on the 15th of September on the outdoor stage of Zahrádky Žižkov [Žižkov Gardens] will bring young, top-class bands from Europe to Prague. The energetic quartet BRNS, blending indie rock and crazy groove, will arrive from Belgium, the Luxembourg band Say Yes Dog will serve up catchy synth-pop, the Polish-English singer Kari will captivate listeners with her northern-style songwriter's pop, and the Hungarian band Passed will present its unconventional mixture of classical harp and electronic music. After the programme on the outdoor stage ends, the Liveurope Festival will continue in the Malá Scéna [Small Stage] venue and the Divadelní Bar [Theatre Bar] of Palác Akropolis, where several other foreign producers and DJs will play. Entry to the Festival is free!

Palác Akropolis is the only Czech club to become part of the Liveurope international music platform. It focuses on new, talented European artists, and its main aim is to enable these musicians to also present their work in Europe – outside their home country. The co-ordinator of the platform is the Ancienne Belgique club (Belgium). In addition to Palác Akropolis, its other members include the following music clubs: Blå (Norway), FZW (Germany), Melkweg (Netherlands), A38 (Hungary), ROCKHAL (Luxembourg), Sala Apolo (Spain), Stodoła (Poland), VEGA (Denmark), Village Underground (Great Britain), Musicbox (Portugal) and L´Aéronef (France).

BRNS
They write about them like the Belgian answer to ALT-J, Battles and Foals, but they themselves swear by Morphine and Nirvana. The Brussels band BRNS (pronounced: Brains) burst into the local scene at the start of the decade, and after their debut Wounded in 2012, nothing was the same again. The quartet blends post-punk groove with electronics and the dirty riffs of nineties alternative rock. “This is an exceptional Belgian band with a completely unique sound,” the portal For Folk's Sake wrote about them. Their two-year-old second album Platine sent them on a tour of all of Europe; thanks to Liveurope, they will play their premiere in Prague.

Say Yes Dog
The infectious synth-pop of Luxembourg band Say Yes Dog resembles the aesthetics of crazy television cartoons, and fans of the genre will recall Hot Chip and Metronomy. The trio met in the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, but the group only came into existence two years ago, when they wanted to get into the sold-out German Fusion Festival, and they had the idea that they could try their luck as a band on the talent stage. When they succeeded, they quickly wrote songs which were subsequently released on the A Friend EP. Their debut album Plastic Love is exactly the type of music that will take the listener to Friday club fever, even if they're sitting in an office and it's raining outside. The portal Noisey declared that Say Yes Dog is “the best undiscovered European electro-pop band.”

Kari
The Polish-English project Kari is based on talented Polish native Kari Amirian. After releasing her successful and critically acclaimed debut Daddy Says I'm Special in 2011, she moved to Leeds in England. Thanks to producer Chris Headley, Kari shifted from songwriter fragility to a more eclectic alt-pop sound in her second album, Wounds & Bruises, in which one can hear echoes of electro, eighties and folk rock. However, the fascination with the contemporary Scandinavian scene remained; after all, it is thanks to it that the press compares Kari to Lykke Li, Stina Nordenstam and Björk.

Passed
One of the hottest names on the contemporary Hungarian club scene belongs to a band whose core is formed by singer Dorottya and harpist Fanni Nizalowski. This young formation's trademark is a blend of contemporary electronic music and a classical harp sound. They're very well known in Hungary, partly due to their participation in the A Dal 2015 competition, which precedes Eurovision. Passed have tried playing before Bonobo and Parov Stelar in Hungary, and on the 15th of September they'll play in Prague for the first time. You can actually see them twice – as a live band on the outdoor stage, and also with a DJ set at the after-party.
